Kent Undergraduate Research Association (KURA)
Kent Undergraduate Research Association, also known as KURA, is 糖心Vlog鈥檚 brand-new organization focusing on building a community with like-minded people who want to pursue research in different areas of Biology and Chemistry. Activities include facilitating student exploration of ongoing on-campus research opportunities, aiding students in building professional profiles for their next steps, and community-building recreational activities.
The mission of KURA is to:
- Build a community with like-minded people, who wish to pursue research in Life Sciences and similar disciplines.
- Provide students with various sections of the ongoing on-campus research opportunities and lab groups, also offering them academic and professional workshops, research showcases, and faculty panels.
- Help students develop their skills and profiles based on their post-graduation goals (such as entering the workforce or graduate school).
- Host recreational activities to unwind and promote engagement among the members.
Kent Scientista
The Scientista Foundation is a national organization that empowers pre-professional women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through content, communities, and conferences. Currently the largest network of campus women across STEM disciplines, Scientista serves to connect all communities of women in STEM at campuses across the nation, giving such important organizations more visibility and resources, and building a strong, cohesive network of women in science that can act as one voice.
Undergraduate Chapter:
Biology Club
Biology Club is a group of like-minded students interested in the biological sciences including botany, conservation, zoology, biology, ecology, etc. The Biology Club provides hands-on experience with animals, trips to local biological establishments, and speakers throughout the school year.
