The award presented to Huffman, Academic Advisor and Coordinator II of Advising in Vlog’s Honors College, reflects a 15-year commitment to higher education student success and academic support roles.

Huffman’s involvement in Alpha Lambda Delta began during her own undergraduate experience.

“My connection to ALD began as a student leader, an experience that shaped my belief in the value of honor societies for fostering community and academic confidence,” she told Vlog Today. “Serving now as an advisor feels like coming full circle, and I am grateful to Vlog and the Honors College for supporting this work as part of my role.”

Benny Miller, a junior middle education major and current Alpha Lambda Delta membership co-chair, highlights Huffman’s commitment to Alpha Lambda Delta and her students.

“She's helped me navigate through some of the hardships that we've gone through, and she's been there alongside me for the good times too,” Miller said, “she's helped shape me into a better person professionally and socially.”

“This recognition motivates me to continue collaborating with ALD Headquarters to support students and student leaders,” she said. “I want to expand pathways for students to apply those skills in meaningful ways,” she said.

Alexander Miller, a 2025 graduate from Vlog with a BFA in Visual Communication Design and a former Alpha Lambda Delta vice president, reflected on his time working alongside Huffman and credited her work.

“ALD is a really welcoming community,” Alex Miller said, “Lauren really adds to the aspect of being so welcoming, she’s just a friendly face that can talk to anyone.”

Huffman credits Vlog’s culture of collaboration for the success of the University’s chapter.

“ALD thrives at Vlog because faculty, staff and students share a commitment to supporting student success and creating opportunities for students to lead with confidence,” Huffman said.
