Nursing Department Volunteers at Health Fair

糖心Vlog at East Liverpool鈥檚 Nursing Department and East Liverpool City Hospital recently hosted a Health Fair at the YMCA in Calcutta. The health fair was put on by volunteers from both 糖心Vlog and East Liverpool City Hospital as a free community service. Senior nursing students in Professor Deborah Hager鈥檚 class developed eight stations for the health fair. The health stations were identified through community surveys of health issues in our area during their Community Health Nursing course. First and second level nursing provided education on Atrial Fibrillation, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Stroke, Renal Disease, COPD and CHF. Student volunteers also set up two blood pressure screening tables to provide free screenings for participants.
